Between Photography and Synthography: A 3D Spatial Exhibition
EIKONA isn't just a name; it's a prism. The word εἰκόνα (eikṓna) in Ancient Greek letters means literally 'image,' the seed of every vision. That etymology runs through the space: it asks you to see images as living exchanges between what's here and what's possible.
A Journey Inside the Images
Guido Fuà's 3D gallery on Spatial is conceived not simply as a virtual exhibition, but as an immersive environment to be crossed rather than merely observed. Here, the image leaves the wall behind and enters space, becoming something closer to architecture than surface, something to move through rather than stand before.
At the core of the project is the coexistence of two visual languages: my photographic eye and synthographic imagination. Fuà does not present photography and synthography as opposing forces, nor as participants in a familiar debate between authenticity and artifice. Instead, he places them within the same immersive digital dimension, allowing each to retain its distinct nature while entering into a new spatial dialogue.
Photography brings with it the weight of observation, presence, and lived encounter. Synthography introduces speculation, generative freedom, and the possibility of images not bound to the visible world. In this tridimensional setting, these two modes of image-making do not cancel one another out. They coexist, interact, and expand the field of vision itself.
The project also marks the completion of a longer trajectory. An earlier attempt, during the Covid period, to create an augmented reality gallery was ultimately set aside, felt by the artist to be too early and too limited by the language available at the time. This new Spatial environment closes that open circle, giving form to an intuition that had remained suspended.
Developed with the support of Alexander Aleksashev-Arno and Ulyana Citer, this gallery is both a personal milestone and a broader reflection on the contemporary image. It proposes that the future of visual experience may lie not in choosing between photography and synthesis, but in learning how to inhabit a space where both can speak.

Every project starts with a conversation.
I work with clients who value precision, consistency, and a long-term relationship with their visual identity. If that describes your project, I'd like to hear about it.
